President and Founder
John moved to Big Sky in 2001, to continue to build his construction company, Haas Builders, which was started in 1989. Prior to arriving in Montana, John lived in Park City, UT, and has been building custom homes and commercial buildings for over 25 years.
John’s nonprofit experience includes involvement with Make A Wish in Salt Lake City for five years, as well as the Ronald McDonald House in Missoula for another two years. His Big Sky work began with the LIFT Program, which eventually stemmed to the SPCF and continues today.
John loves his children Stella, Garrett, and Reno, and most of his free time is spent outside, doing what Big Sky locals love: Spending time with his two dogs, Fly fishing, bird hunting, mountain biking, running, and telemark skiing.
The Spanish Peaks Community Foundation strategically directs the generous contributions of our members to support and enhance the quality of life of those living in the greater Big Sky area.
