Discovery Academy

Big Sky Discovery Academy (BSDA) was founded in 2014 by Scott and Karen Maybee with a core purpose of providing the best learning environment for children to confidently and joyfully excel in life. BSDA is the first, and currently the only, private Montessori-based PreK and elementary school in Big Sky. The school is affiliated with and devoted to the mission, philosophy, and code of ethics of the American Montessori Society (AMS). BSDA strives to endow its students with a lifelong love of learning, while fostering social awareness necessary to live healthy, productive lives by using the Montessori philosophy, multi-age classrooms, individualized learning pathways, place-based and community-connected lessons, and a mastery approach to learning and progression.
